Before the Throne

Source: vanitasvanitatvm.blogspot.com

I'm listening to Shane & Shane's "Before the Throne" while tears stream down my face. I am reminded of the utter goodness and mercy of God. The absolute beauty of Jesus and His Gospel. His Good News. How could any human heart not want this or receive this? It is the absolute greatest love story ever told. And it is for you, personally!

But it is not just a story. It is REAL and tangible. I live my everyday life in it.

That God would send His only Son to be crucified and raised again on high, so that we could be restored into relationship with Him. That Jesus would give up His throne and the glory of God to come to earth and walk as a man, showing us how to live and love God and others, while taking our afflictions and trials onto Himself so that we can be truly free. That a Holy God would take on flesh and the sin of men so that in return, we can be blameless and spotless before Him, restored to intimacy with Him, knowing that we not only experience His power, love, and friendship in this life, but for eternity.

This is love beyond human comprehension. This kind of love could only be Divine.

And now, Jesus sits exalted at the right of the Father (Acts 2: 32-36). But He doesn't just sit there and receive worship (which He is completely due)...He sits at the right hand of the Father and prays and intercedes for you and me. Wowwwwwwwww! He thinks about us AND prays for us!

"Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us." -Romans 8:34 (NLT)

Remember today that if you have put your faith and trust in Jesus, you have a faithful High Priest who constantly makes intercession for you in heaven. He prays for you not just with a love and passion as a groom would pray for his bride, but also from His own personal experience in the flesh. He knows and understands the trials and pains, as well as the joys that we live through.

He is not distant. He is closer than our skin. No tongue can condemn you. No trial can overtake you. No lie of the enemy can take root. This is the truth of God.

Look toward heaven today. Boldly come before the throne of God. See Jesus there as we intercedes and makes the way for YOU.

This is the Good News.

This is Jesus.

The Man.
The Savior.
The Intercessor.
The Faithful High Priest.

Happy Sunday, everyone :-)

"So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." -Hebrews 4:14-16 (NLT)
